The line graph compares the percentage by age groups of people going to movie theater from 1984 to 2000.
Overall, it is evident that the cinema attendance by four age groups increased during the period. Young adults from 15-24 years old accounted the largest proportion of attendants while the over 35 year - old group accounted the smallest percentage.
In1984, the number of people from 15-24 years old going to cinema went up from 18% to 32% in 1990s. After some fluctuations, this figures reached the peak of nearly 60% in 1999 and then decreased. Having the similar trend, there were some fluctuations of the percentage of children from 7-14 years old going to the cinema before 1990s. Then this figures rose up and peaked at approximately 40% in 1999 and fell down from 1999 to 2000.
The cinema attendance of 25-35 years old group showed a gradual increase from 5% to 15% before 1994. In the next 5 - year period, this figures fluctuated and then increased to 30% in 2000. Most of the time, the percentage of 25-35 years old group was lower than that of children group. The proportion of people over 35 years old attending cinema grew steadily form nearly 0% to 15% during the period and always accounted for the smallest proportion.
