The lecture is about locus of control which explains what people think about where the controls for anything that happens to them comes from. The professor explains two different types of this phenomenon. Some people are internals and believe that they control any events that happen to them. For example, when they want to attend a job interview, they practice a lot, work on their abilities and do their best to succeed. If they do not get the job, they feel disappointed and blame themselves. On the other hand, some people are externals and believe that controls come from outside and not from their inside. For instance, when they go to a job interview, they take the interviewers’ mood and luck into account. If they do not get the job, they think that the interviewers were not in good mood or they faced a bad luck, even if they are not qualified for the job. They do not get anything hard for themselves.
