How to use "Despite"

This issue had been raised after submitting my essay in this site. At the time, I should re-write my composition twice as to reveal the correct way to compose a sentence using "despite".

Luckily, when I'd been perusing through with the trusted dictionary, I discovered this mechanic. So, no reasons not to share this.

Here we go. Please kindly check the patterns:

DESPITE Noun/ Noun Phrase, Subject Verb:
E.g:
Despite all our efforts to save the school, the authorities decided to close it.

Subject Verb DESPITE THE FACT (THAT) Subject Verb
E.g:
She went to Kampung Inggris Pare despite the fact that her boyfriend had told her to rest.

What has been explained above could help you write using "despite" correctly.
