Woven baskets characterized by a particular distinctive pattern have previously been found only in the immediate vicinity of the prehistoric village of Palea and therefore were believed to have been made only by the Palean people. Recently, however, archaeologists discovered such a "Palean" basket in Lithos, an ancient village across the Brim River from Palea. The Brim River is very deep and broad, and so the ancient Paleans could have crossed it only by boat, and no Palean boats have been found. Thus it follows that the so-called Palean baskets were not uniquely Palean.

The argument that palean baskets were not uniquely palean because of the brim river is very deep and broad, and therefore the ancient paleans could not have crossed it, is very simplistic view at the glance. The author could not support his argument by strong evidence to prove why palean baskets are not unique. The argument could be developed by several main factors and strong evidence to clarify why palean baskets were not uniquely palean.

The author does not explain the reasons which characterize woven baskets by the prehistoric village of palea. Finding woven baskets in the vicinity of the prehistoric village of palea is not appropriate reason to believe that these baskets have been made only by the palean people. The author does not consider other factors why people believe that these baskets were uniquely palean. Maybe making these kinds of baskets needed certain skills that palean people only had and people who lived in the other areas could not make them, so woven baskets characterized by palean people.

The author also failed to bring decent evidence to clarify archaeologist’s discoveries about palean baskets. The archaeologist may find some kinds of baskets that are resemble to palean baskets in lithos village. The writer could develop the argument about this discovery by giving some example about the similarities and differences between discovered basket and palean basket and decrease ambiguities.

Furthermore, the conclusion about do not finding any palean boats means that they could not have crosses the river is a very simplistic. There are some main reasons that the author does not pay attention to them carefully. First of all, the author should render strong evidence to convince the readers about the crossing the river only by boat in the past. The bridge might be built by the ancient palean across the river and provided them with the golden opportunity to make a business with people who lived in the lithos and purchased their baskets. Secondly, the author should take some information about the ancient boat into account that they might be destroyed during that time and archaeologists could not find them. The author could bring stronger reasons to abrogate this belief that woven baskets have been made by palean people instead of using weak reasons like no palean boat across the river prove that the palean baskets were not unique.

In conclusion, the argument has lots of weak evidence without strong supporting reasons and the author generalize some evidence to prove the conclusion. The author could explain why woven baskets were characterized by Palean people by strong evidence and then by giving appropriate example about finding similar baskets around the world and other areas illustrate that this acclaim is wrong and convince the readers by his reasons. In addition, if the author wants to show that the ancient people could not have crossed the river easily and they should used the boat while no palean boat have been found in the area that the baskets discovered, should present appropriate evidence to persuade the readers.
