Nowadays, the trend to use sport and fitness centers to keep oneself healthy is ever increasing. This can be seen from the increase in memberships in sport and fitness centers across the country. It is agreed that the government should provide free sport and fitness centers for everyone. Analysis of the below issues will show the need for this.

Firstly, the membership costs of private sport and fitness centers are not affordable for all and they tend to avoid such kind of expenses. For example, many surveys have shown that private fitness centers have been considered as a luxury by most of the middle class families. So they may avoid such facilities to save the money and use it for something else. This clearly shows the need for government funded sports and fitness center so that every can use these facilities to improve their health.

Secondly, there are not much fitness and sport centers in sub urban area or rural areas as they don’t have much business prospects to private fitness chains. For example, most of the private fitness firms are targeted at high income class and they choose urban areas to operate. This is not at all helpful for people residing in suburban areas and they won’t be able to access these facilities at all. Thus it is necessary that there should be government funded facilities for sport and fitness which does not consider business profits to choose its area of operation.

In conclusion, the above examples show that how the affordability and accessibility of sport and fitness centers are affecting people and how the government funded facilities will help them. So it is hoped that government will fund more sport and fitness facilities to make it accessible for everyone.
