The bar chart below shows the top ten countries for the production and consumption of electricity in 2014.
The bar chart illustrates the then leading nations in terms of the generation and demands of electricity in 2014.
Overall, a majority of countries produced more energy than their consumption, while China and the United States were notable energy consumers.
Looking into the chart, it is noticeable that China and the USA appeared to be topping the chart, with features of both production and consumption being all over 3000 billion kWh. To be more specific, China occupied the first place with nearly 5400 billion kWh generated and used, which is followed by the United States with both numbers fluctuating around 4000 billion kWh. The Republic of Korea was the smallest energy producer among the ten countries, which sent out 481.1 billion kWh of electricity with a simultaneously reasonable consumption of 450.5 billion. Moreover, Germany was the only member to have consumed more energy than its production, making it the most apparent feature. Apart, from the two leaders China and the USA, other countries produced and consumed relatively insignificant capacities, with figures ranging from 450 to 1000 billion kWh.
