Given is the bar graph depicting the proportion of British who donated for charity according to their age groups in two distinct years, 1990 and 2010.
It is conspicuous that people from 36 to 50 years old were the dominant group giving money for charity in the first year. Additionally, older people who are over 50 years old devoted much more donations in 2010 than 1990 whereas the reverse was true for other groups.
In 1990, roughly 17% of British residents aged 18 to 25 gave money to charity and the number of people preferring to assist the disadvantaged surged twofold in the 26 to 35 age group. Strikingly, the highest percent of people who contributed grants belonged to the 36 to 50 - year-olds with over 40%. Nevertheless, the figure of inhabitants donated plunged in people aged 51 to 65 and over 65 years old with 35% for the former and about 32% for the latter.
After 20 years, British people from 51 to 65 who were the most outstanding folk took part in donation with nearly 40%. Thereafter, second in terms of the proportion of philanthropists were people from 36 to 50 and above 65 with the same percent, exactly 35%, followed by a decline over 10% in the number of donors in the ages of 26 to 35. Meanwhile, the percentage of contributors from 18 to 25 reached a nadir with approximately 7%.
