A glance at the provided line graph illustrates the information about the trend of three categories of crime in three different area in Manchester city centre from 2003-2012. In general, it is clearly apparent that Burglary had significant downside pattern while car theft showed the opposite and robbery remained unchanged during the period.

Looking in more detail from the chart, in 2003, the number of burglary reported at near 3,500 cases marked as the highest crime compared to car theft and robbery. The figures reached the peak in 2004 at around 3,750 before it dropped significantly years by years to the lowest point at above 1,000 in 2008. In the next four years, the trend of burglary started to rise again by 500 cases on average placed it as the second rank crime in 2012. In opposite, car theft which reported as the second frequently happened crime in 2003 at 2,250 showed a slightly decline in 2006 by 250 cases and began to climb gradually at approximately 2,800 incidents in 2012 marked it as the highest category of crime in 2012. Finally, the trend of robbery showed a small fluctuation which reported only between 500 to below 1,000 cases during the period.
