The bar chart depicts the estimated rates of illiterate women and men worldwide.
The most obvious fact is that females have a higher rate of illiteracy than males in almost all estimated countries. However, in developed countries 3 percent of women are illiterate, while in South Africa more than a half of female population are illiterate. It is also noticeable that the a huge difference is between women and men in three large regions; sub-Saharan Africa, Arab states and South Africa, where men are more educated than women in almost 1,5 times. However, in Latin America and Carribean countries is less significant difference between men and women in comparison with East Asia/ Oceania, where the gap is 12%.
To conclude, estimated World illiteracy rate showes us how women are less involved in education and people need to struggle with this problem.
