Overall, it is clear that most people consumed fast food either once a week or once or twice a month.
Looking at the details, the proportion of people who ate fast food once or twice a month was 30% in 2003 and, while this figure declined by 5% in 2006, around 3% more people did the same in 2013. However, fast food restaurants served the heaviest proportion of customers once a week in 2006, standing at around 33% compared to 31% and 28% in 2003 and 2013 respectively.
As we can see further, the lowest percentage of below 4% of American’s consumed fast food on a daily basis, whereas only around 1% more people had never eaten fast food during the mentioned period. Moreover, while around 15 to 20% of people had had fast food several times in a week, the figure was only 13 to 15% for those who ate a few times a year throughout the years.
