Overview, a significant percentage of Americans eating out at fast-food restaurants once a week and one or twice a month was seen during the period as opposed to the others occurred in such times.
As can be seen from the chart, In 2003, the group that ate out at fast-food restaurants the least frequently went every day. In 2003, 31% of Americans ate at a fast-food restaurant once a week, which was 27% more than the percentage of diners who went every day. The group that ate out once or twice a month saw the biggest increase at 25% in 2006 to 33% in 2013. The year 2006 witnessed the highest percentage of Americans eating at fast-food restaurants at 20% as opposed to 16% and 17% in 2003 and 2013, respectively.
Looking at the chart in more detail, there was an equal proportion of people ate at fast-food restaurants solely a few times every year at 15% both in 2006 and 2013 while the rate stood at 13% in 2003. In addition, there was the number of Americans who rarely or never ate fast-food over the period mentioned and such exception was also seen in the proportion of diners eating out at fast-food restaurants every single day in 2006 and 2013.
