It is clear that compared with the average price in 1989, most countries saw house prices decline between 1990 and 1995, while in the rest period prices rose in all cities except Tokyo.
In the first period, there was a decrease in the house price, with Tokyo and London suffering the greatest losses at -7.5% and New York facing a slight dip at -5%. However, the six years witnessed moderate price rises in Madrid and Frankfurt, 2% and 2.5% respectively.
Turning to the next seven years, the average house price dropped in Tokyo by 5%, whereas the other four cities saw prices rise. The percentage change in London was 12%, followed by New York where the average price increased by 5%. And prices in Madrid and Frankfurt kept increasing by 4% and 2% respectively.
