In the initial 5 years, the estate price in New York went down by 5% comparing to the average price in 1989, while the housing cost in Tokyo and London dropped markedly by around 7% in both cities. On the other hand, prices in Frankfurt grew by nearly 2% and by a little less in Madrid.
Turning to the final seven years, the largest property price hike was witnessed in London, where figure jumped to 12% above the 1989 average. Likewise, New York and Madrid experienced less dramatic surge pricing with average shifts in 5% and 4% respectively. By contrast, houses in Tokyo remained still cheaper than in 1989, however it was 2% higher than the 1990-1995 level. Finally, the cost of an average home in Frankfurt stayed approximately on the same level that was in the first period.
