The charts below give information about different types of waste disposed of in one country in 1960 and 2011.
The given pie charts provide a comparison of various paradigms of disposal waste in one nation between 1960 and 2011.
From an overall perspective, it is apparent that most disposed wastes experienced an upward trend over a 51-year period except for textiles, glass, paper, and others. Noticeably, paper wastes hosted the first rank in 1960 while this top was replaced by food in 2011.
According to the data in 1960, paper accounted for one-quarter of all waste while this proportion declined by exactly 10% after 51 years. Following that, there was a decrease in textile elements from 17 percent in 1960 to 11 percent in 2011. Subsequently, the latter proportion of wood waste was roughly less than 2 times when compared with the former. However, the period saw an increase in food waste, which raised by 9 percent and became the highest rank in 2011.
While there was an upward and downward trend over the period, the share of glass, metal, and green waste remained unchanged after 51 years. Moreover, there was a dramatic upsurge in plastic waste, which grew by 10 percent and stood at the second-highest rank in 2011. Finally, the share of other material wastes declined by double once compared with the initial percentage.
