The charts below give information on the ages of the population of Yemen and Italy in 2000 and projections for 2050.
The charts show the information on ages of the population of Yemen and Italy, with future projections. It is clear from the chart of Yemen is that about half the population in 2000 consists of people of the age group 0-14. Among the rest most contains people from 15-59 years old and a very little proportion of population with age more than 60 years. In the projection of 2050, the percentage of 0-14 years age group will decrease by a significant amount, which is now about 37%, whereas the proportion of 15-59 years olds is projected to increase. As seen from the chart, the percent of 60+ years old people have also increased in a small amount.
While studying the chart for Italy, we can see a different picture than that of Yemen. Here in 2000, the leading population is of the age group 15-59 years old, which is 61.6%. Unlike Yemen, the other two age groups have a significant portion of the chart, with 60+ group of 24.1%, that was very insignificant portion in Yemen. From the projection for 2050 chart, the percentage of 15-59 years old age group will face a significant decrease, which is supposed to be about 46.2% of the whole population. On the other hand, 60+ years old percentage will have a great increase, resulting them to be 42.3% of the population. The 0-14 years old age group will face a little decrease in their proportion.
Therefore, the pictures of population statistics are very different between the two countries. And the data projected also don’t match with each other.
