The graphs illustrate the numbers of the UK students graduated and postgraduated not applying for a full-time job in the year of 2008.
It can be seen clearly that there were 4 main reasons for this, including: having part-time work, voluntary work, further study and unemployment. Generally, the rank in two bar charts was similar in their categories. Among that, students who wanted to be volunteers occupied the lowest proportion while desired to have more study got the highest one in both cases. However, the average figure for graduate students was much more significant the postgraduate students.
Taking a detailed look into the first chart, further study had an overwhelming rate of nearly 30,000, more than over 6 times compared to voluntary work that was 3,500. The sencond and third highest were part-time work and unemployment with no far distance of 17,735 and 16,235 students, respectively.
Meanwhile, the second graph shows us all ratios under 3,000, which were 2,725; 2,535;1,625 and 345 with the same order of factors as the UK graduates chart indicated.
