The figure reveals cases of cars stolen from 1990 until 1999 in four nations. It is clearly seen that theft was prevalent in Great Britain compared to other areas.
In 1990, Great Britain had 17,000 recorded stolen automobiles and this rose up to 20,000 in 1992 but had a decrease after a year with 16,000. After 3 years, the number of vehicle thefts steadily grew until it reached its peak in 1993 with 21,000 then, it plummeted in 1999 with only 15, 000 cases. Subsequently, Sweden was the 2nd leading country with high cases of car thefts though it started with only 8,000, it skyrocketed up to 13,000 in 1996 and plateaued until 1998. It rose a year after with 14,000.
France and Canada on the other had almost the same pattern. Their theft cases begun with 6,000 to 7,000 respectively and declined after 3 years with almost a thousand difference from the starting point. France, however , fell down until 1990 while Canada increased steadily until the end period reaching a little over 5,000.
