The diagram below show how geothermal energy is used ti produce electricity.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The diagram provides information about the process of electricity which is generated by geothermal power.
Overall, it can be seen that the production of electricity from geothermal energy is a multistep, linear process, by which consists of 5 stages, pumping the cold water down, geothermal zone, pumping the hot water up, move of turbine by steam, production of electricity with generator by turbines.
Initially, cold water is pumped down to the injection well which is 4.5 km under the surface. Next, the water goes through the geothermal zone which is full of hot rocks to increase the temperature of the water. In the third stage, the hot water arrives to the production well to be pumped up to the surface again and the stages which are under the surface finishes.
In the second half of the process, the hot water goes into condenser and causes to create steam. After that, the turbine takes the power from the steam to move itself before providing enery to generator. Finally, generator converts the kynethic energy to electricity and the last stage ends with generating the electricity.
