The first step is to have cold water pumped down into the injection well, which is approximately 4.5 km underneath the ground, and then the water goes through the geothermal zone which comprises of hot rocks. The purpose of this step is to heat up the water and store the hot water is stored in the production well. The third step is to pump the hot water from the production well up to the condenser.

The hot water is boiled in the condenser in the fourth step and then converted into the steam. The steam makes the turbine run and when the turbine is running, it also powers the generator. Therefore, the electricity is produced in the last step and then the electricity is being transported to the households.
