Essay topics:

The diagram below shows information about carbon dioxide emissions, fuel consumption, and flight costs for popular private jets. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The table compares and contrasts data on the difference in emissions of carbon dioxide, fuel consumption, and the cost of flying each jet by nine different private jets.

In general, despite the fact that there is not a perfect correlation between these three categories, higher fuel consumption and flight costs usually result in higher production levels of carbon dioxide.

Looking at the table more closely, one can see that although the cost per hour is the same at $6,750, the number of gallons of fuel used per hour by the Challenger 605 is slightly over 200 less than the Gulfstream III, with 280 and 488 gallons, respectively. In contrast, both the Hawker 400XP and the Hawker 800XP used the same amount of fuel at 188 gallons per hour, but the cost for one hour of flying is $2,700 and $4,500, respectively. The two jets most similar in running cost and fuel consumption are the Learjet 60 and the Cessna Citation XLS, as they both cost $4,500 per hour and vary by only 5 gallons per hour in fuel consumption.
