The diagram below shows the number of landline telephones per 1000 people in different countries over a five-year period.

The bar graph provides information about how many people acquired a landline telephone in different countries throughout the year of 2000 to 2004.
The landline phone ownership in 9 distinctive countries show 3 different fluctuations; the decreasing trend for Singapore, Brunei and Philippines with the first two countries have the highest phone ownership, completely disappearance of phone ownership for Indonesia, Lao PDR, Myanmar and Thailand, and the incremental trend for Cambodia and Vietnam. Except for Singapore and Brunei, the number of phone ownership was minimal for the rest of countries.
Looking at the detail, Singapore had the highest landline phone ownership of 450,000 in 2000. After that the figure decreased substantially but remained at its dominant figure at about 425,000 by 2004 and which trend is followed by Brunei of started at 250,000 in 2000 and ended at 225,000. In comparison to that, about 100,000 Philippines held landline phones in 2000 and declined steadily to approximately 70,000 by 2004.
Meanwhile, the rest of countries had the minimal number of people had the possession of landline phones throughout the periods. Cambodian and Vietnam people experienced an incremental trend to reach at 50,000 each by 2004, whereas Indonesian, Lao PDR, Myanmar and Thailand saw the completely extinction of landline phone ownership from the highest number recorded for Thai people of 100,000 in 2000.
