The diagram shows how hydro-electric power is generated.
The diagram illustrates the process of producing hydropower.
Overall, there are seven main stages in the production of hydroelectricity, from water evaporation to the electricity used for various purposes.
At the first stage of the hydro-electric power production, heat from the sun causes seawater to evaporate, which results in the formation of clouds and rains afterwards. A reservoir, which formed by a side of the mountain and a dam, serves to contain the rainwater.
At the next stage, rainwater passes through a valve to a turbine. Inside this turbine, the water is either converted into electricity which is then passed through cables or goes to a pump which pushes it back to the reservoir.
Regarding the electricity travelling through high voltage cables, it will then arrives at a station where the transformation happens to make it ready for use. Finally, usable electricity travelled through underground cables which transport it to households, plants, hospitals and schools.
