The supplied graph depicts amount of exhaled CO2 emissions in metric tones per person in four European countries from 1967 to 2007. It is obvious from given graph, that Portugal and Italy showed raising trend over the period, when UK and Sweden represented opposite trend. However, in 2007 all countries reached almost same numbers.
Italy and Portugal showed over the period similar increasing trend with just below 2 tonnes and slightly above 4 tonnes respectively. In the last decade CO2 pollutions In Italy and Portugal remained steady (about 5 tonnes and roughly 7 tonnes).
Getting back to the data, CO2 emissions continuosly dropped down, but, in 1977 Sweden polluted air as much as UK, about 11 tonnes per person. Therefore, in 1977 numbers peaked in Sweden, in next decade is visible significant dip to just above 6 tonnes. Since 1987, UK and Sweden continued decreasing of CO2 emissions, ending with approximately 9 and about 5 tonnes respectively.
