In 1950, Manufacturing was involved in economy of the UK for approximately 40%. In comparison with its participation in 1975, it is slightly higher. Furthermore, agriculture sector contributed to the UK economy for roughly 50% in 1950. Compared with it, the participation of this sector was significantly lower in 1975.
Overall, the contribution of manufacturing and agriculture fields to the UK economy decreases, whereas involvement of business and financial services rose during the 20th century.

As can we see from the chart, the agriculture and manufacturing were the main sectors to contribute to the UK economy at the beginning of the century. By contrast, the business and financial services became more important by the end of century.
By the 1975, the agriculture has been a sudden decrease with 50% contribution in compared with 10% in the year 1950. As regards, the contribution of the business and financial services, has increase from 5% approximately to 30 and 40% during the period. The manufacturing appears to come after agriculture sector, beginning with a percentage of 45% in the 1990 whereas the rate dropped steadily reaching between 20% and 10% in the years 2000.
As conclusion, the agriculture sector and manufacturing has significantly more contribution than business and financial sector during one century to the UK economy.
