The line chart illustrates the figure for wheat exported in three different regions (Australia, Canada, and the European Community) between 1985 and 1990. Units are measured in millions of tonnes.
Overall, the three graphs of wheat exports each show a different pattern. Meanwhile, wheat exports from Australia decreased gently, Canada fluctuated significantly and the European Community indicates a steady growth over the given period.
According to survey data, Canada had the highest amount of wheat exported in the first 4-years. It began at around 19, then peaked at 25 in 1988, before hitting a free fall to under 15 in 1989 and finally increasing again to 19 in 1990.
In comparison with the export of wheat in Australia, which witnessed a slight climb to around 16 in 1986, the quantity in the European Community dropped gently to 14 at this time. After that, exports from the European Community went through a period of dramatic increases to over 20 in 1990, surpassing the number in Canada and becoming the country that had the most wheat export in all three. On the other hand, Australia's figure decreased slowly throughout 1986, then reached a plateau of 11 from 1989 to 1990.
