The line chart given represents total amount of money spent on books in four countries namely, Germany, France, Italy and Austria between years 1995 and 2005.
Overall, we can clearly observe that there has been an increase in the total amount of money spent on books in of the four nations. In 1995, 80 million US dollars were spent in Germany on books and it was ranked first. On the other hand, a bare amount of 30 million US dollars and it was ranked last in comparison with other three countries. But in 2005, Austria overtook Italy and was ranked third when around 70 million US dollars were spent on books in Austria which was a significant increase as compared to the amount spent in 1995.
Germany has remained consistent in its ranking over the 10-year period. The only country which has had a steady incline in the amount of money spent on books is France. From the graph, it is evident that amount of money spent in France has never declined.
In conclusion, we can say that countries are beginning to the importance of books in every aspect.
