The graphs below depict the computer ownership during 2002 to 2010 as a percentage of total population and computer possession categorized by education level.
The percentage of people owning the computer saw a steady increasing trend over the period of 2002 to 2010. In 2002, around 55% of the total population possessed a computer, while in 2010, almost three-fourth of the people had it. The years 2004, 2006 and 2008 witnessed 60%, 65% and 70% of the population having a computer.
In 2002, the percentage of people having a computer holding no high school diploma was 15%, which more than doubled in 2010, to become 42.5%. High school graduates also increase their share in computer ownership by nearly two folds from 35% in 2002 to around 70% in 2010. The postgraduates were the highest percentage of computer owners with 75% possessing it in 2002 and 95% of them owing it in 2010.
In conclusion, there was a gradual increase in the percentage of computer owners, during the given time period, irrespective of the educational status of the people.
