The given pictures illustrate the process of producing chocolate.
Overall, the process comprises a number of distinctive steps, commencing with cacao trees being planted and grown, ending with liquid chocolate being produced.
At the beginning of the process, a variety of cacao trees are planted in south america, africa and indonesia, at which point these planted trees grow up and their red pods are ripening. After that, farmers pick up these pods and harvest white cacao beans. The harvested beans then fermented and spreaded in hot sun for drying to eradicate unwanted bacteria and guarantee hygience. This stage is followed by packaging with the dried beans being put in large sacks to ensure that they are well-prepared and ready for being transported to a factory by a train or a lorry.
The process continues with the beans being sent to a machine whose function is roasting beans under extremely high temperature with the purpose of sterilizing and purifying. After that, the roasted beans are crushed to remove their outer shell and ready for being pressed to produce liquid chocolate.
