Internet Users as percentage of population
The graph gives information about the percentage of the population of internet users in three countries between the years 1999 and 2009.
Overall, there was a considerable increase in internet users among the countries during the time. While nearly all people in the USA and Canada had access to the internet by 2009, almost half of the Mexican people were deprived of it.
According to the graph, we can see that 20% of people in the USA could use the internet in 1999, compared to people living in Canada and Mexico with just under 5% and 3%, respectively. While rising rapidly in the USA and Canada, reaching 50% of the population in 2002, the number of internet users was growing slightly in Mexico, reaching 10% in that time. After that, in 2003, this trend increased dramatically in Canada, exceeding the USA by 5%, but they reached together at 70% in 2006, followed by a substantial rise in Canada and a slight growth in the USA.
By 2009, whereas almost all Canadian people (99%) and the majority of Americans (90%) used the internet, the internet was accessed by just 40% of the Mexican population.
