The line graph below shows the oil production and consumption in China between 1982 and 2006.
The given line graph provides a comparison of the volume of oil manufacture and
to consumption in China over a 24-year-period.
From an overall perspective, it is evident that both factors witnessed an upward during a period. Oil production is slightly different in its number whereas the demand for oil dramatically raises after 24 years.
According to the recorded data, the supply and demand of oil stood in the same pattern at the beginning. Subsequently, the oil consumption remained constant until 1990 while its production increased by 1 million oil barrels and was unchanged from 1994. Finally, the oil demand reach a peak in the end and was roughly higher than 2 times its production.
It can be stated that both elements experienced an upward trend. Obviously, oil consumption increased significantly in the 1990s and made a two-fold jump from 1990 to 1998, the statistic of oil consumption merely grew by 0.5 million barrels per day in 1998. Although the superior growth in the oil supply at the beginning of the period, the oil demand hosted the highest volume at the end. Finally, at the end of the period, the oil supply increased by 1.5 million barrels per day while its demand was up to 3 times when compared with initial number.
