The two maps indicate the the differences between the layouts of the village of Stokeford in the year 1930 and 2010.It can be clearly seen that the main change involves the addition of houses and the retirement home which means the population of the village was dramatically bigger.
Now turning to the details. By the year 1930, there were two farmlands in the South West and the North East of the village respectively. For the year 2010, the two farmlands were demolished to make way for more houses along the main road. In the year 1930, there was large house surrounded by gardens to the South of the primary school. 80 years later, it was flattened to erect a retirement home on this site.Furthermore, during this period, the post office, the bridge, and the river Stoke remained unchanged after 80 years. The primary school was expanded which means that there was more pupils attending.
In summary, the village of Sokeford has changed dramatically from year 1930 to 2010.
