The maps below show the center of a small town called Islip as it is now and plans for its development.
The maps illustrate some changes to Islip town center is predicted in plan comparison with its current layout.
Overall, Islip town center experienced considerable changes in the planned development. The most noticeable difference between the two maps is the construction of a ring road and the appearance of some facilities.
As can be seen from the maps, there is the main road running through its center from west to east. According to the planned development map, the main road is to be a pedestrian path. The two side roads are be lengthened to the north and the west surrounds the pedestrian path creates ring road.
Currently, there are shops along the main road. However, the shops along the north of the pedestrian street will be demolished and replaced by a bus station, shopping center, car park, and new housing. The shops along the south of the pedestrian path will still exist, but the park will become smaller to build new housing.
