A glance at the maps provided reveals striking information about the development plans of a centre called Islip. It is evident from the information provided that the future plan of the centre has much more amenities compared to the present plan.
One particularly interesting fact highlighted by the maps is the introduction of dual carriageway in the future development. All the other facilities, except the school and housing, are enclosed in this dual carriageway. In contrast, the Islip centre of the present has a single pathway to the school and the park in the east end.
Also noteworthy is the fact that while the present plan of the Islip centre includes shops near the countryside and opposite of the main roads, the future Islip town centre will contribute only a single row for the shops near the pedestrian walking road. The area for the countryside and shops has transformed into an area that includes a bus station, a shopping centre, a car parking and a new housing facility which has an entrance from the east side of the dual carriageway. New housing has also been established near the park.
