The maps illustrate a number of changes which took place in at the seaside resort of Templeton over the 15-year timescale, starting in 1990.
Overall, it can be obviously seen that the coastal resort of Templeton witnessed striking transformations with the most noticeable being new railway and ferry. Furthermore, the addition of new facilities was accompanied by the conversion of trees and housing area into new amenities.
Looking at details, in 1990, the Templeton’s seaside resort was quite natural with a myriad of trees, housing area, some of which had been replaced by new facilities by 2005. To the northwest side of the river which separated the resort into 2 parts, trees and houses have been demolished to build new buildings. The same development had happened with the southwest area of the river, where new supermarket had been erected with the appearance of blocks, which made total of 3 blocks in this area. Besides, the trees to the western side of the river had been replaced by new residential area. Another major change to the area had been the construction of new ferry and railway along the coastal line.
In addition, on the north-western corner of the maps, it is clear that trees had been knocked down to make way for residential area. There had been a transformation into new airport in the northeast side of the river. One notable change is that trees and housing area to the southeast side of the river had been completely flattened to make way for new factory. Besides, the trees and houses to the east of the river had been flattened.
