The maps below show the village of Stokeford in 1930 and in 2010.
The maps illustrate the changes of the village in Stokeford during the period of 80 years.
Overall, it is clear that the significant changes made the village more modernized with the expansion of residential areas and the land for agricultural use vanished.
Looking at the maps to more details, the primary school was rebuilt with 2 new blocks while the Post office remained. In 2010, shops along the main road and both of the farmlands of the village were demolished to give space to new small roads, which are connected to the main road. There were a few houses in the north, near the primary school before refurbishment. In the developed map, residential areas were extended with more houses run along the roads.
In 1930, the garden located in the heart of the village and it was big. However, in 2010 it was shrunk to make away for a housing estate along the road leading to the garden. Meanwhile, the large house on the ground of the garden converted into a retirement home.
