The pie charts show the percentage of Oscar winners for seven different types of film in 2003 and 2008.
In general terms, In 2003 nd 2008, the proportion of flims that won Oscar changed for all the genres. Besides, the proportion of action films and thriller accounted highest percentage in this period.
As can be seen ftom the pie charts show that the percentage of thrillers that won Oscars dropped from about a half of the total in 2003 to nearly a third in 2008. The figures for horror flims also decreased a half from 2009 to 2008.
On the other hand, action, documentary and science fiction films all rose their share of Oscars between 2003 and 2008. Action films increased from about 20% in 2003 to arround 25% in 2008. The proportion of Oscar winners for documentaries, romance and science fiction all rose by approximately 15% between 2003 and 2008. In contrast, the percentage for comedy films which won Oscars stayed the same in 2003 and 2008 at about 5%.
