The pie charts give data about the average household expenses made in a country in the year 1950 and 2010.
Overall, it is clear that housing expenditure represented two-third of the total spendings in the past. However, in the last given year, food accounted for majority of the expenses while people also spent more for housing and other purposes.
In terms of housing, 72.1% of expenses were related to housing in 2001, but this figure declined drastically to a low of 22% throughout the 60 year period. In 1950, besides housing, people also spent a large proportion of their money on food, at 11.9%. Surprisingly, this value rose sharply reaching the rate of 34% in 2010.
In the 60 year period, expenses for transportation and other sources also experienced a significant change in their value. In 1950, the proportion of transport and other expenditures accounted for only 33% and 44%, while in 2010, these values experienced a dramatic increase of 10.7% and 14.8% respectively. Lastly, the rate of expenses in the remaining categories only changed slightly, at 4.5% for education and 6.3% for health care in 2010.
