The two maps illustrate how the layout of a specific region has changed from 1965 to the present day.
Overall, the area has experienced some improvements with the installations of accommodations and services, with the construction of some bridges, buildings, and car parks.
One key change is the construction of two types of bridge on the river; one is the road bridge and the other is foot bridge. Additionally, there are three car parks have been introduced on both sides of the river. The bigger one is located in the north-west wing, while the other two are built on the south-east of the river. Meanwhile, all the trees which were previously situated on the rear-left corner of the map have been cut down to make space for other purposes.
Another significant development is the emergence of some apartments on the top of the map. In addition, by making use of vacant spaces that were next to the right-sided of the river, the local authority has expanded the housing development in these areas. In 1965, there were four houses in total in Assford, rising to five in the present day.
