The table gives the information about the average band scores of students from 4 different countries who took the IELTS Test in 2009
Overall, speaking is the most popular skill of students in four countries in the 2009 IELTS exam. It is clear that while students in Germany got the highest scores in three skills which were listening, speaking and writing, Malaysian students received the highest score in reading skills.
In 2009, while students in Germany got 6.7 in overall, Malaysian students only got 6.4 at the same time. During this time, German and Malaysian students' highest score in speaking were 6,9 and 6,8 respectively. While reading skill was the lowest performing skill in German and in Malaysia, writing skill was the most challenge for students there.
It can be seen that while students in France got 6.5 overall, Vietnamese students only got 6.3 overall. In both reading and listening skills, Vietnamese and French students had the same scores with 6.1 in reading skill and 6.3 in listening skill. Although the writing score of Vietnamese students was 6.2, it was still quite low comparing to French students when they reached 6.5 in 2009.
