The table compares the attendence of four kinds of secondary schools from 2000 to 2009.
Overall, the attendence of specialist schools, grammar schools and voluntary-controlled schools dwindled over the span of time. On the contrary, the enrollment of community schools boomed in the meantime.
The percentage of students attending specialist schools, grammar schools and voluntary-controlled schools decreased gradually from 2000 to 2009. Voltary-controlled schools, which composed with the largest proportion of attendence in the year of 2000, dropped from 53% to 20% in the year of 2009. Grammar schools attendence decreased from 24% in 2000 to 12% in 2009. Meanwhile, the enrollment of specialist schools dwindled slightly from 12% in 2000 to 10% in 2009.
However, community schools significantly expended its enrollment. The percentage of attendence in 12% in the year of 2000, which is the least proportion. The attendence mushroomed to 32% in the year of 2005. Thereafter, a drast increase can be seen in the year of 2009, when the proportion of students ranked the first and reached 58%.
