Task 1: The maps below show a beachfront area in Australia in 1950 and today.
The picture illustrates how a beachfront region in Australia has changed from 1950 to now.
It is clear that this area has undergone significant modifications with the expansion of the road and the construction of the restaurant and the surf club.
In 1950, a road was constructed to the north of the area and there was a car park at the end of the road. Meanwhile, a playground, dining tables, and a pavilion were located alongside the road. Near the beach, there were two 25-meter swimming pools and a lighthouse.
After some renovation work, now, the road is expanded towards the south of the region. While the dining tables, the pavilion, and the lighthouse remain unchanged, the playground is removed and replaced by a new car parking area. Two surf clubs and a restaurant are built on both the right side and the left side of the beach. In addition, the swimming pool, which is situated on the left side of the beach, is extended from 25 meters to 50 meters.
