The three graphs compare the percentages of annual expense for five different reasons by a school in the UK. Figures are given for 1981, 1991 and 2001.
Overall, it is clear that the teacher's salaries made up the most of the spending. Also, the proportion of spending on insurance gradually increased by the year while the opposite pattern could be observed for spending on other workers' salaries.
In 1981, 40% of the annual spending of the school were paid to the teachers. The figure leaped up to 50% in 1991 and dropped marginally to 45% in 2001. The same amount of money was spent on resources and furniture & equipment in 1981. However, 20 years later, the spending on furniture & equipment almost tripled that of resources, in which numbers stood at 23% and 9% respectively.
The expense for insurance was on the rise, started from 2% in 1981 then increased to 3% in 1991. In 2001, another 5% was added to the spending on insurance. On the other hand, payments for other workers were cut down gradually, from 28% in 1981 to only 15% in 2001.
