The two pie charts below show the online shopping sales for retail sectors in Canada in 2005 and 2010. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The pie charts compare the proportions of four different retail sales in Canada in 2005 and 2010.
In general, during the period depicted, the Canadian spent a lot of money on two things - electronics and appliances, and food and beverage. Contrarily, the two others, which were consumed at lower levels than the two sectors mentioned, are home furnishings and video games.
The consumption rate of electronics and appliances was recorded at 35% of total retail sales in 2005. After 5 years, the rate declined to 30%. In contrast to the fall of the first group of products depicted, food and beverage products witnessed considerable growth when their proportion had been made up from 22% to 32%, respectively, at the beginning and end of the 10-year period.
In the less growing group of products, the consumption rate of home furnishings decreased rapidly from 2005 to 2010, when it was seen as 25% and 15%, correspondingly. In comparison to that, the retails of video games increased better when it rose from 18% in 2005 to 23% in 2010.
