The pie charts provide the information about comparing the sales generated from online shopping in Canada between two different years (2005 and 2010).
In general, electronics and appliances had the highest sales among the four merchandise sold online in 2005, while food and beverages earned the biggest profit in 2010.
In 2005, majority of online shoppers bought electronic devices and appliances. In fact, the sales of these products made up one third of the total earnings combined from the four retail sectors. It was then followed by home furnitures, food and drink products who also had bigger sales to almost a quarter each. The least likely to be bought was the video games earning only 18%.
To compare, in 2010, online consumers bought more food and drinks than electronic devices. It was evident when a moderate increased of 10% was added from the previous sales of food and beverages garnering the biggest profit. In addition, video games had also a slight increased in sales (23%). Meanwhile, sales in electronic had a minimal decreased of five percent from its previous sales (35%) while sales in furnitures had plummeted to 15% making it the least to earn among the four online products.
