The first chart below shows the results of a survey which sampled a cross-section of 100,000 people asking if they traveled abroad and why they traveled for the period 1994-98.
The second chart shows their destinations over the same period.

The given table chart depicts the outcome of the survey which was done between one lakh's people telling about their destination country and also stating reson for travel in the bar chart for the period of five year between 1994-1998.
Overall, it is clear that majority accounted for holiday and also Western Europe is the most popular among travellers, while least travelled is for other reason. However, no drastic change is observed in number of travellers for North America.
To begin with, holiday was the most preferred location in 1998 which stands for about 20,700 people travelling abroad. However, travel for business purpose and family gathering remain almost same below 4000 person, between 1997 and 1998. The gradual increase in travel for holiday, business, friend or family meetup and other reason was seen in Western Europe for three consequetive years that is from 1995 to 1997 below 3700 individual.
On the other hand, in 1994, 1995 and 1998, many person travells for other reason which in total was 2700 and least was observed for North America. A gradual increase is shown in other areas of travel for the given period of 5 years.
