Essay topics:

A friend, who lives in another country, has invited to you come and stay with him/her on your next holiday. You are too busy to accept the invitation. Write a letter to your friend. In your letter: –
thank him/her for the invitation
explain why you cannot come
ask for his suggestion when you can come

Dear ABC,
I received your invitation for homestay for the Christmas holidays this year. I know it's a great way to enjoy together and experience the scenic beauty of switzerland. But, due to some personal reasons it is not possible this time. I will explain to you my situation ahead.
First of all, I thank you my amigo for the invitation. I was happy to open the beautifully crafted handmade note which I got in my letterbox this morning. The places you decided are fantastic for the adventure and drinks and swiss chocolates are mouth-watering for the evening party. Although, I want to be a part of this as I was also thinking about a trip to any other country this winter. Now, it's not possible for me to come to your place. Basically, our Senior Manager has hosted a welcome party in Thailand for all the new employees that joined the company this year. As, you know I have recently got this job so unfortunately I have to be a part of this to get along with the boss and the rest of my staff members. He is quiet a nice guy which makes it impossible for me to make an excuse of not attending this venture. I hope you understand the problem.
By the way, I was also thinking to join you in the summer holidays in the coming year. Kindly, make another trip like this as I have always dreamt of seeing switzerland someday. Moreover, it has been so long we have seen each other. Last, I remember we were in college. Please make invite me next time and I will surely come.
Best wishes to you and your family.
XYZ
