The graph illustrates the amount of a kind of toxic gas: Carbon Dioxide (CO2) which every person in five European sections (the United Kingdom, Sweden, Italy, and Portugal) absorbs for the period of 40 years from 1964. In addition, the graph is measured in metric tonnes.
The contamination in the atmosphere in the United Kingdom is the most severe at the beginning of the graph, and the purest area is Portugal. On the contrary, the trends of the two lower air pollution countries (Italy and Portugal) go upwards while the two leading countries (the United Kingdom and Sweden) had decreased throughout the years.
A citizen in the UK had to suffer less and less amount of carbon dioxide emissions from 1967 to 2007. It is slightly different in Sweden, from 1967 to about a decade later, the line goes up, but it had reduced dramatically in the remain years of the graph (more than 10 metric tonnes to nearly 5 metric tonnes)
Regarding Italy and Portugal, the air pollution in these two sections had risen almost the same due to the superior platform of Italy which makes the difference ( about more than 2 metric tonnes)
