Similarly in United Kingdom, the amount of CO2 acid gasses saw a steady decrease which remained about 11 metric tonnes in 1967 and declined to about 9 in 2007.
By contrast, in Italy CO2 emissions for each person starting at just over 4 metric tonnes, this trend increased dramatically and reached almost 8 metric tonnes in 2007. As regards Portugal average carbon dioxide emissions per person has increased sharply over period in question and remained the same with Sweden in 2007.
