Write a letter to your friend from whom you borrowed something that accidentally broke. Please say
– Remind him/her, what have you borrowed
– Explain what happened
– What you will do about it
Dear Sara,
I hope you are doing fine. Unfortunately, I have a bad news for you. In fact, I am writing to inform you that the mathematical calculator, which I have borrowed from you last week, has been broken.
As you know, I was supposed to take an advanced calculator to the geometry exam and that was why I had asked for yours. I stayed up late the night before the exam and overslept the day after so I had to run a long distance from university's gate to the exam hall. While I was running, I collided with another student which was in the same predicament and fell on the ground on my backpack. Sorrowfully, the calculator took the hit and was entirely smashed.
I am extremely ashamed of not protecting the object better. Had I predicted this incident, I would have gone to bed earlier. The calculator condition is so bad that I am afraid the only way to salvage the situation is to replace the goods. I wanted to inform you that I have already ordered a mathematical calculator with the exact model from the same manufacturer online. It is supposed to be delivered in the weekend. I will bring the item to you as soon as I receive it.
Again, I would like to apologize for the accident and ask for your forgiveness.
Best wishes,
Behnaz
