Dear Sir,
I hope you are having a great day. I'm writing to inform you that I wouldn't be able to take the job which I agreed to start over the summer. This is due to some reasons beyond my power.
My result for the Senior West African School Certificate Examination is out and I passed! This is a special moment for me as I'm going to further my education. My parents are so excited, although we haven't resumed yet for the first term.
Furthermore, I want to let you know how sorry I am. Please accept my apology. May I say that I've been looking forward to this position; we don't mean any harm, whenever an unforseen circumstance of this nature comes up.
Next summer is by the corner, so I'd love to fill up that position as long as it is vacant. If I'll be given a second opportunity to work for you, then I wouldn't miss that spot for anything.
I look forward to hearing from you at the earliest.
Yours faithfully,
Adam Grant
